OmiKG to Be Presented at AMIA 2026: Original Thinking Shaping the Future of Systems Medicine

Recently, research on OmiKG was selected for presentation at the AMIA 2026 Annual Symposium (American Medical Informatics Association), which will be held in the United States this November. AMIA is one of the world's leading academic forums in biomedical informatics and digital health, bringing together researchers and practitioners from top universities, hospitals, and research institutions, including Stanford University, Harvard Medical School, Mayo Clinic, and many other pioneering organizations worldwide.
Being selected to present at AMIA not only recognizes the novelty and scientific merit of OmiKG's approach, but also creates an opportunity for research developed in Vietnam to contribute to international discussions on the future of medicine and healthcare.

From Disease Treatment to Proactive Health Management
Unlike conventional information retrieval systems, OmiKG digitizes causal relationships by comprehensively connecting lifestyle, nutrition, environmental factors, medical history, and laboratory test results for each individual. Pioneering a Causal Knowledge Infrastructure for the Next Generation of Medicine
Around the world, many organizations are applying AI to unlock the value of healthcare data. However, relatively few are pursuing the development of comprehensive causal knowledge infrastructures designed specifically to support Functional Medicine and Systems Medicine.
OmiKG serves as a "medical reasoning map" that explores disease mechanisms at their root causes. It represents one of OmiGroup's core technology initiatives, laying the foundation for a preventive, evidence-based approach to healthcare.
During internal evaluation, OmiKG identified disease mechanisms in 88% of the benchmark dataset, compared with 6% for GPT-5.2 and 0% for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems. For OmiGroup, however, these figures represent more than a technological comparison. More importantly, they reflect recognition of the team's original research direction, as demonstrated by the selection of the OmiKG study for presentation at AMIA 2026.
Importantly, in the paper submitted to AMIA, OmiGroup also transparently acknowledged the current limitations of the system, particularly in Clinical Utility and Citation Fidelity, while outlining a clear roadmap for future improvements:
- Enhancing clinical applicability through collaboration with Clinical Advisors at the National Institute of Nutrition.
- Improving citation accuracy and expanding the underlying knowledge base to support future commercial deployment.
By openly reporting both its achievements and its current limitations, OmiGroup demonstrates its commitment to an evidence-based research methodology throughout the development of OmiKG.
